3 Skyscrapers for Los Angeles – The offices of architecture firms of Skidmore Owings and Merril and also P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S have created three residential skyscrapers. They will be an addition to the growing skyline of Los Angeles.
The development in the Olympia area with the 3 high rising towers will have a few extras. There will be public shopping and also outdoor areas. This all will be in the Los Angeles South Park neighborhood. Located at the crossing of the Olympic Boulevard and the Harbor Freeway.
3 Skyscrapers for Los Angeles with 1367 units
The three buildings will accommodate 1367 apartment units. They will offer great views from the balconies and also terraces for the community.
The residential units are “designed to attract Downtown Los Angeles’ growing creative class” according to developer City Century. Shops and also restaurants will have 3,700 square meter. It is planned to have open, green and also public spaces sizing 10,700 square meter. Also there will be a podium at the base.
The structure which is designed by Skidmore Owings and Merril is also the architectural office behind some very cool international buildings: For example the Burj Khalifa, the One World Trade Center and the Willis Tower. The local firm P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S is also involved in the planning.

The Downtown of Los Angeles is undergoing a rapid development at the moment. There are large projects by the offices BIG and also OMA in the pipeline. The structure are joining a number of cultural building which are completed recently in the surrounding area. There is the Broad art museum by Diller Scofidio + Renfro for example. Or the Hauser & Wirth Gallery by the Selldorf Architects. They are going to regenerate an overlooked part of the city of Los Angeles.
