Manhattan’s new apartment towers are designed by the American architecture offices Rafael Viñoly Architects, Richard Meier & Partners, and Kohn Pedersen Fox. The companies will create three high end residential buildings. They will overlook the Hudson River in New York.
On a plot of nearly five acres, called Waterline Square which is one of the last available undeveloped waterfront sites in Manhattan’s Upper West Side district. The trio will have a mixture of rental apartments and also luxury apartments.
The buildings on the Riverside Boulevard, sat between West 59 th and 61 st Streets. So they are just a few blocks north of the Via 57 West which opened earlier year 2016.
The “One Waterline Square” by the office of meier will get in the hieght of 135 meters. The “Two Waterline Square” by KPF will rise 137 meters. “Three Waterline Square” by Viñoly will climb to 113 meters.
“The glassy towers complement one another in their articulated facades, outdoor spaces and faceted crowns, and also collectively create a bold architectural statement set against the backdrop of the New York City skyline,” the team said.
The three residential towers set around a three acre park. They are connect the nearby Riverside Park and also the Hudson River Park, stretching along the Hudson separating New Jersey from Manhattan.
Waterline Park, is a design by the local office of Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects. The Waterline Park will have small forests of trees, walking path and also a great lawn. There will be also a playground and also water features.
In addition to the Waterline Park / Manhattan’s new apartment towers, the development is going to offer lifestyle, sports and also leisure” amenity spaces. All in all with 9290 square meters.
The three towers are part of a way larger masterplan for the Riverside South. This was initiated decades ago by several civic associations.
“Waterline Square is a rare opportunity to complete the development of the last remaining parcels of this important waterfront masterplan,” the team said.
The masterplan is transforming 77 acres of waterfront land at the Hudson river. It was formerly a rail yard – now fortunately it will turn residential and also living neighborhood.
