The Architect for slimmest residential tower of Europe unveiled the design for Rotterdam. The Dutch office Powerhouse Company is planning a high-rise apartment block in the City of Rotterdam. It could become “the slimmest residential tower of Europe”.

Baan tower, the name for the new skyscraper is set to reach a height 150 meters and also just a compact footprint of just 20 meters by 20 meters.
The Tower will sit on a plot near the Rotterdam’s Erasmus Bridge. The 47 floor high structure will be getting a facade of dark grey stone and also feature aluminum window frames. It will have 145 apartments and also an extra of two duplex penthouses for the two top levels. In all the structure will have a size of 21,000 square meter.
“With its compact dimensions and a height of 150 meters, Baan Tower will be the slimmest tower of Europe,” said the architects. “Baan Tower is a new architectural icon for innovative living in the heart of Rotterdam.”
The apartments of the slimmest residential tower will have various Layouts and also sizes. The building is including also compact lofts for first time buyers next to spacious homes for families and more luxurious apartments. Plans are to have a cafe on the ground floor.
There will be large windows for each floor, offering the residents views across the city of Rotterdam. The city is undergoing a wave of redevelopment at the moment. The medium-sized and also the larger apartments will have private outdoor areas.
Into the base of the tower a five meter high plinth will be incorporated made of travertine stone. The whole design of the building will also create a new Landmark into the surrounding post – war architecture.
Powerhouse Company, the office is working with RED Company, Being Development and also Martens Construction on the development on this structure. The construction will start this year.
